This role in summary

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Buyer, Global Strategic Sourcing - Warehousing (Analyst, Procurement). This role will be located in Benton Harbor MI.

Whirlpool manages Indirect Procurement as a regional function for North America and Latin America North based out of our North American Region (NAR) Headquarters. The Indirect Procurement team manages purchases of indirect materials and services required to design, manufacture, distribute and advertise our products, supporting most functional areas throughout the company.

In this role, you will have accountability for the warehousing subcategory for North America (US and Canada) and manage approximately ~$190M in annual spend. This position will engage cross-functional stakeholders and utilize effective Supplier Relationship Management techniques to enhance commercial and operational performance.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for ~$190M annual category spend, supporting Whirlpool's North America Region manufacturing plants and distribution network
  • Developing and implementing the sourcing strategy for the Warehousing subcategory
  • Lead fact-based sourcing decisions, negotiate commercial terms, and generate contractual agreements with the supply base
  • Drive supplier performance management and build commercial relationships
  • Create, measure, and execute initiatives that optimize cost, quality, and service
  • Build cross-functional partnerships across the business and engage Warehouse Operations to generate, and execute solutions to improve Whirlpool Corporation's operational and cost performance
  • Ensure compliance with Global Procurement policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes related to the sourcing of Warehousing services including, but not limited to contract management, financial forecasting, and supplier performance management

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement or supply chain

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or Engineering
  • Demonstrated practical use of supplier management and sourcing principles
  • Proven communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and management skills
  • Analytical and computer related skills
  • Manage and prioritize multiple key activities
  • Build strong rapport and relationships with internal process partners and suppliers
  • Grow in your technical abilities to become a subject matter expert in Chemicals & Resins
